Swine Flu, Al Qaeda and Taliban

Swine Flu is generally found in pigs. the possibility of passing it to Human is very rare, people who work with pigs are prone to getting this virus. Also transmission of this virus fro human to human is very rare. But the virus H1N! is known to have caused more than 150 deaths. And WHO has declared it a pandemic. To develop an effective vaccination for this virus proper research has to be done on how it was transmitted to the human.

Some rumors are that in a factory farm run by a subsidiary of global food giant Smithfield Foods suspecting fumes were found from pig manure and flies. Smithfield foods says there is no connection between this and swine flu.

There China also denied that dead pigs found in its South Eastern province can be a cause of Swine Flu.

The discussion going around the world is that how much possible is the Al Qaeda’s hand in Swine Flu outbreak? Does Al Qaeda possess the technology of making bio weapon? You don’t need to have a big infrastructure to make a bio weapon. It is one of the most dangerous kind of weapon as it doesn’t leave behind any form of life. Also it is very easy to deliver this weapon for example smuggling or posting the infection causing powder in an envelop to target person. Unlike Nuclear or Conventional weapons the effect of bio weapon is not confined to some region. slowly slowly it spreads to many other places through transmission.

It has been found that Al Qaeda has developed good relations with the smuggler of Mexico. The US-Mexico Border is very prone to illegal migration. And the concentration of Swine flu infection is very high in New York. Reports says that there might be a possible hand of Al Qaeda and Mexican smugglers to deliver this virus to US.

  • Wash hands properly with Soap Water or disinfectant
  • Avoid people who have a fever, cough, or sneezing, or complain of any flu-like symptoms
  • If you feel like you are developing flu symptoms, don't wait to see if it will just go away. Call your doctor or nurse practitioner and ask for advice or an appointment

Can Romania and Russia Cooperate?

I wont rule out the possibility of a nice cooperation between these two states but the conflict and asymmetrical relations between them far outweigh it.

Russia and Romania were allies at some point of time during Soviet era. After the dissolution of Soviet Union, Russia and Romania chosed different paths, Romania was very sure to join west, whereas Russia went through many phases and under the leadership of hon’ble Vladimir Putin, Russia gained that world’s respect once again.

Romania and Russia doesn't have a friendly history. Russia has invaded Romania 13 times and finally it was forced to be an ally of Soviet Union. Romania didn't like this, and even now it prevents the Balkan region from the Russian influence, whereas Russia is worrying that its former allies are joining NATO one by one,  which has brought American army to the Russian frontiers. One more reason of conflict is Moldova, which was a part of Romania but was taken by the Soviets. Now Moldova is an independent country, whose appreciable percentage of population speaks Romanian. In recent years Romania has been promoting alternatives to Russian gas pipelines.

All this shows how difficult it is to bring these neighbors closer, together who can do a lot to bring eastern Europe out of the map and make an important economic and strategic region.

The only thing where Russia and Romania shares similar interest is Kosovo. Both of them for some reasons are against the independence of Kosovo. If they would cooperate well on this, they may develop some understandings. Peaceful dialogues makes the relations sweeter.

Chinese String of Pearls Theory

When the whole world was busy in dealing with Taliban and Al-Qaida, and was working to bring normal conditions back to Pakistan. China was developing its military in an aggressive manner. China hates interference of US and Russia in the region, because it dreams to be a regional power. As India is the only country in the region which maintain friendly relation with both U.S. and Russia, that’s why Sino-Indian relations are cold. The major reason why China doesn’t like India is that India gave shelter to the Tibetan peace leader Dalai lama. Tibet was an independent country before 1950 when Chinese attacked and captured the whole land.

China to become a regional power will have to destabilize India, and for this purpose it maintains good relations with all anti India elements, whether it’s insurgency in North Eastern India, or Pakistan. To make Pakistan capable to equalize India in power, China gave it its nuclear and missile technology. Pakistan is one of the largest user of Chinese military equipments.

Chinese String of Pearls theory talks about surrounding India from all sides and keep an eye on India and America. For this China is building a railway station for Pakistan on the zero line, that is the international border. According to International laws, No country can build any thing with in the area of 150m from the international border and the area is called as no man’s land. Presence of China so close to Indian western border has unsettled India. Source: Chinese help for Pakistan railway worries India) China is also building a naval base in Gwadar, from where it can keep an eye on all Indian, European and American vessels passing through Persian Gulf, and at the time of need it can destroy them in not less than five minutes.

On the other hand it is building a base in Maldives which is just few thousand KM away form South India which is India’s technical hub. China has plans to deploy its nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers there. China is also developing a civil port in Srilanka, How much control will China have on it, no one knows. China is building a naval base In Myanmar's Coco Is. and is establishing a radar facility to monitor Indian Navy movements and India’s Missile and Space program. India’s missile testing base and India’s space station are both situated on the eastern coast. China is in talks with Bangladesh also to develop its Chittagong Port.

All these developments have worried India, as Chinese intension is very clear. So far India is able to establish an airbase in Tajikistan and is also looking forward to build army and air bases in Russia to Surround China. India has good relation with CIS countries, Russia, Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Bhutan. India needs to give more attention in developing some kind of strategic relation with these countries. Chinese advancement should be controlled to maintain stability in the region.

Is Pakistan playing with the world?

Pakistan tested its nuclear bomb in 1998 in a response to India's nuclear test in 1974. Since then it never stopped increasing its nuclear arsenol now the number of it's nuclear warhead has reached alarming level which has become a hot topic in the world politics. Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chief of Staffs, confirmed the assessment of the expanded arsenal. (Source: The New york Times). Pakistan is not yet a signatory of NPT and it is also not a signatory of "no first use" [of nuclear weapons] with other countries.

To give a hard response ot India, Pakistan acquired nuclear and missile technology from China and is been accused of giving this technology illegally to North Korea and Iran. Which is very alarming for America (Source: Time Magazine, The Man Who Sold the Bomb).

Pakistan has been developing nuclear ams rapidly, interestingly it is developing when the world fears that Pakistan's nuclear arms may fall into Talibanese hands. India on the other hand is little disturbed with these developments as Pakistani nukes aims in India and are ready to fire.

The question is, Pakistan is the country which doesnt have military equipments, money and infrastructure to fight Taliban, save civilinas in the war, give them education and basic needs, how is it producing nuclear arms? Every month US, UK and some other countries each gives billions of dollars to Paksitan as aid to fight against terrorsim, to develop infrastructure and education. The money which Pakistan recieves monthly is comparable to the money generated by other developing countries of the world. But Pakistan is using this money against India.

As soon as America increased the amount of monthly aid to paksitan we have seen the development of Pakistani military against India (Source: Is Pakistan using US aid to expand nuclear arsenal?) & (Source: Pak Using US Aid for War Against India).

The fnal Question, Is Pakistan really serious to destroy Taliban or still dreaming of destroy India after loosing four wars against it?
